Untappd's new update... Between wines and beers

What does this mean? Easy, one more reason to drink more… anything better than that?

What am I talking about? This update doesn't just help you find spots near you for your beer happy hour, now you can also check in wines and spirits. YES, now you can log your IPA and then that shot of Barrilito on the rocks. All these new wines and liquors, more than 10 million new drinks to check in, come thanks to Wine-Searcher.

They also added 45 new badges. Some might get added automatically, but either way, new badges are new badges.

Hey, with all that said, despite all the changes they made and how different the app looks from what it used to be, nothing's gonna happen to your check-ins… don't panic.

Bro, don't stress if you feel like there's way too much now for what you want out of Untappd. In the settings you can customize what you see in your app: wine, beer, liquor and even a non-alcoholic section.

The app now has these tabs:
Discover: places, events and what's pouring near you. It starts with your town and has a map with filters.
Community: your friends, the places you follow and Untappd news, all in one feed. Double-tap to toast.
Shop: to buy drinks in the app, where available.
Search: any drink, brewery, place or person.

What blew my mind the most is that it's now easier to find what you like most. When you get to the bar, you open the menu in the app and the algorithm recommends what you'll most likely enjoy.

And if you remember a beer you fell in love with a while back, its profile now quickly shows you where you can go grab another one.

All this comes in the update they just dropped. If you haven't hit the App Store or Play Store yet, what are you waiting for?
